Links, emailing files, and Ask Claude

· Sketchbook changelog

Web addresses become links everywhere, any file in the notebook can be emailed, other apps can share into Sketchbook’s mail, and a quick Ask Claude lives in the sidebar and on the home screen.

1.4.3 answered two messages sent late on 12 October and just after midnight. The first listed what was still missing: links on web addresses, sharing files by email from inside the app, sharing into Sketchbook’s mail from other Android apps, and choosing several photos at once on a phone or tablet. The second asked for mail to fold away completely in the sidebar, for Claude to sit higher up, and for a quick way to ask Claude small questions without starting a full session, perhaps as a widget on the phone’s home screen.

A bare web address written in a page now shows as a link, on the web, in shared pages and in the apps. Web links open in a new tab. Mail shows its plain web addresses as links too, without ever touching a link that was already there. In the web editor, links are styled as links and Control-click (Command-click on a Mac) opens one, while a plain click still lets you edit the text.

Email a file

Share into Sketchbook’s mail

Other Android apps now see a second share target, Email with Sketchbook, beside the existing “Save to Sketchbook”. Share one file or several, with or without text, and a new draft opens in the app’s own mail compose.

Several photos at once, everywhere

Every place that picks pictures now uses the multi-select photo picker, including mail compose. On the web, the slash menu’s Image item opens the phone’s photo picker directly, with a separate File item for everything else.

Along the way it turned out that only the tablet’s expanded sidebar ever checked for app updates, which is why most devices never noticed a new version. From 1.4.3 the app checks every time it starts and says when an update is waiting.

The sidebar and Ask Claude

Mail is now one row with a chevron. Folded, it shows the total unread count and takes up a single line; each device remembers your choice. Claude sits right under Mail, followed by Ask Claude: a small box for a quick question, answered without keeping a session. On Android it opens from the sidebar and the rail, and there is a home-screen widget, a bar that opens it straight away.
